At Vasudha Farm, we are passionate cultivators of the exquisite Papaya (Carica papaya).

Papaya is a tropical fruit known for its sweet and vibrant orange flesh. It is native to southern Mexico and Central America but is now grown in many tropical and subtropical regions worldwide.

Papayas are rich in vitamin C, vitamin A (in the form of beta-carotene), fiber, and various antioxidants. They are known for their digestive enzyme called papain, which can aid in digestion.

Papaya trees are small and usually reach a height of 6-20 feet. They prefer tropical climates with warm temperatures. Papayas can be grown from seeds, although commercial cultivation often involves vegetative propagation methods to maintain desired traits.

Papayas are typically harvested when they are ripe, which is indicated by their orange color and slightly soft texture when gently pressed. Unripe green papayas are also used in various savory dishes.

Papayas are enjoyed fresh as a snack or in fruit salads. They are used in smoothies, desserts, and salsas. Green papayas are used in salads and savory dishes, often grated or shredded.

Papaya cultivation faces challenges such as pests and diseases, including the papaya ringspot virus. Farmers use various management strategies to mitigate these issues.

By caring for the land, we ensure that every fruit is a product of our commitment to the earth's well-being
